Learn Japanese in Yokohama!

Founded in 1988, Yokohama International Education Academy is located at the heart of Yokohama, a bustling port city in close proximity to Tokyo. Famous tourist attractions include Minato Mirai 21, Yamashita Park and Chinatown.

Yokohama is also known as the jazz capital of Japan, features world-class eateries and is home to several major league sports teams.

Students in our core “Standard Japanese” course learn techniques to pass the Exam for Japanese University Admission, and the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, while at the same time developing a natural conversation ability, all based on a foundation of integrated Japanese studies.

Students have the option of studying either in the morning or afternoon. Long term and short term study plans available!

In the classroom, students learn from fully credentialed teachers. Additional guidance is provided for students seeking to enter vocational schools, universities, or graduate schools in Japan.

Throughout the school year, events like the annual speech contest are planned to provide students with opportunities to practice their language skills in a non-class setting. Other events include a sports event day, field trips and intra-school events.
